TVC Responsibilities:
I work as a Graphic Designer on the Communications team to do my favorite thing, which is to combine the heart and art for the purpose of loving God, loving others, and making disciples of Jesus Christ.
When and how did the Lord save you?
God saved me as a little girl out for a walk, riding in a Radio Flyer wagon. He pulled me close through a season of suffering—the severe depression of a dear family member and the rejection of family members and peers and friends. He showed me His covenant faithfulness by watching my parents live by faith and instill a love for His Word, His ways, and His people. He schooled me in my need for severe mercy even when I “kept” the rules so that I could rely on His Son for salvation. For a while, I gave the people around me the right to declare how valuable I was, like little sovereigns with scepters. That had me in a dark place, tangled in thoughts of suicidal ideation. But then God showed me that His opinion matters most, and He has declared my value and His love by dying for me on the cross. Now, I rest in freedom and joy by taking refuge in Him, enabled to live in gratitude to Him despite the circumstances.
When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
I moved with my family to the Dallas area at the end of 2015, and I started as a designer in February 2016.
If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
I’ve joked that perhaps I should write a talk on the emotions of designers called, “Kern You Feel It?”
If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
Roller skater
