When and how did the Lord save you?
I grew up in Nebraska with my parents and younger brother. Ever since I can remember, my family has been involved in our local church. My knowledge of God developed from a very young age by attending Sunday school, VBS, and youth groups. For so long, I tried to earn favor and value by being a good person and following the rules. In my sophomore year of high school, the Lord turned me away from myself and toward His marvelous light. I was placed with a mentor who showed me firsthand what it looked like to have a relationship with God in a deeper, more meaningful way. I was also blessed with a strong Christian community who encouraged and strengthened one another in our walks with the Lord.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
When my husband and I moved to Texas in 2012, we wanted a church that preached the Bible and where we could find deep community. Our church search began at TVC, where we quickly found ourselves at home. We became members in 2013, joined a Home Group, and have served in various spaces during our time at TVC.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
“The Art of Knowing Nothing”: In the age of the internet and smartphones, we are expected to know everything and have an opinion that we claim as fact. Everyone insists on being an expert, lowering our trust in the experts. As a result, we often don't listen to others with curiosity and intentionality because we think we know what’s best.

If you were to have your childhood dream job, what would your job be?
Meteorologist

Which fictional character would you be friends with in real life, and why?
Leslie Knope because she is a loyal friend, ambitious about her goals, and joyful about most circumstances.

Favorite Hobby:
Learning new skills, like flower gardening, crafting, and photography, to name a few
