Life Story

I grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, and church attendance and participation were a regular part of my life. I trusted the Lord for salvation in elementary school and filled my life with church involvement. I learned the joy and importance of serving, giving, Bible study, worship, and missions activities.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 1992, I followed my parents to Texas to begin my career in education. I taught middle school mathematics and worked as a school district administrator in North Texas until 2015, when I accepted a position with an education non-profit. My focus shifted from supporting education leaders in a single school district to leading networks for school district leaders across North America.

In 2010, I limped into The Village for Recovery Groups, hoping to reconcile a broken marriage. Through Recovery Groups and Biblical counseling, God exposed sin in my own heart and healed my hurt. My marriage ended in 2018. I was supported and encouraged by my church family—Home Group, pastors, and ministers—throughout the divorce process.

I celebrate that God has healed my many wounds! Through it all, I have grown more in love with Jesus. I pray more boldly and crave the felt presence of the Holy Spirit. I am eager to share His grace and steadfast love.

Hope for The Village Church

My hope is that all people would feel welcomed and come to know the deep love of God through Jesus Christ and live in the power of the Holy Spirit at work in and through them.
