Jhonattan Bonilla

Minister, TVC Espanol Director

TVC Responsibilities:
I manage weekly Spanish-speaking worship services, including preaching and ministering to families. I coordinate and supervise outreach efforts to engage the Spanish-speaking community at The Village Church and neighboring cities. I develop and train lay ministry leaders to serve in and through TVC Español.

When and how did the Lord save you?
The Lord met me in 1994 through physical healing. After this encounter, I was desperate to learn about God. I fell in love with the Lord, but I did not know Him, so I began looking for other believers in Colombia to learn more about Christianity, and that’s how my sanctification journey began.

When did you come to TVC and what brought you here?
During my pursuit of vocational ministry training, I first learned about The Village Church through a church in Oakville, ON, Canada. After moving from Canada to Dallas, Texas, for ministry training, I began worshiping with The Village in the summer of 2019. Since then, The Village has been an instrument in pointing to the restoration and hope my family and I desperately needed. I am deeply grateful to the Lord for connecting us to such a loving church family.

If you had to give a TED Talk, what subject would you choose to speak on, and why?
“The Power of Faith in Building Resilient Communities” – As a pastor working closely with the Hispanic community, I’ve seen firsthand how faith can bring people together, provide strength through challenges, and foster a sense of belonging and purpose. I would share stories of how faith-based communities uplift one another.
