Life Story

I was blessed to grow up in Central Florida in a loving, Christian home. In fact, my parents were on the staff of our church my entire life. I always loved Jesus and loved learning about Him at church. At age 7, I remember sitting in the children’s ministry service during an altar call. I was suddenly very aware that I was a sinner and that I needed a Savior, so I responded. At age 10, I was baptized.

As a youth, faith and trust in Jesus was an effortless gift. Our pastor’s wife saw a passion in me and mentored me in children’s ministry from the time I was in 5th grade until I graduated from Florida Southern College with an Elementary Education degree. My husband, Scott, and I met and married in that church, and later, we were blessed with two children: Joel and Joy.

Over the years, I have taught in the public school system and worked in children’s ministry settings, always with a passion to help disciple children and their families. In 2017, my husband and I began to explore moving to the DFW area to work and attend The Village Church. With this move, we desired to pursue a new season of growth, and that is exactly what the Lord has provided through teaching, community, and service. After learning so much from serving in Kids Village for several years, I am so grateful for the privilege of joining the Next Gen team!

Hope for The Village Church

My hope is that we would foster discipleship among all generations. I pray that we would be a people who value and model transparent community for our children and students, that future generations would thrive because those who went before them faithfully declared and demonstrated the gospel in both the mundane and the extraordinary.
